Free seeds + Next Preston Environment Forum meeting

Preston Environmental Forum mailing list is getting close to 100 names!....and are offering a free veg starter pack (courtesy of Lancashire Wildlife Trust) to whoever becomes the 100th name. The pack will contain some garlic, onion sets, seed potatoes and various seeds. Please let anyone you know who may be interested in getting involved with PEF and ask them to contact Paul Greenwood P.Greenwood@preston.gov.uk for a chance to win the bunch of goodies.

Tree Planting Event, Ashton Park

There will also be an opportunity for any members of the public who come along to plant a tree to make a free bird feeder that they can take away with them.

Potato Day
This Sunday 17th FEBRUARY there will be a Potato Day with Robinsons Nursery on Grange Park - 10am - 3pm
You will be able buy your seed potatoes, onion sets and seeds for the coming season from Robinson’s Nursery. Robinson’s are world famous for their mammoth onions and are the winners of numerous horticultural awards. Robinson’s will be on hand to give expert veg growing advice to any growers that need help. (Various Charges Will Apply)

There will also be a Guided Walk at 1pm on the same day of the beautiful Brockholes Wood with the Friends of Brockholes Wood and a park ranger. (Meeting at Grange Park Interpretation Centre).

Willow Workshop

A chance to try your craft skills and see what you can create out of this wonderful natural material. Have a go at a variety of shapes and objects to take home.

Corn Exchange Gardening Session
Starts 13:00, Saturday 23rd March
Ends 15:00, Saturday 23rd March
Meet at the Memorial Statue, Corn Exchange.
Join the Preston Environmental Forum Action Group and the Park Rangers in a session to tidy up and re-plant the large flower bed near the Corn Exchange in Preston city centre. Any helpers can make a free bird feeder to take home.

Games Evenings now on!


We are holding board games evenings every Wednesday from 7.15pm onwards. All welcome! It's a Pound in and either enjoy free tea/coffee all night or bring your own drinks. Go, five-in-a-row, Scrabble... and we even have our own chessboards ...

Latest arrivals in our growing DVD club are two DVDs on the growing of fruit and veg without using any animals or animal products. We were going to buy these fabulous DVDs ourselves so we have been saved a good few Pounds. Thank you very much to our anonymous donor. Please make yourself known - for free cuppas! :-) XX

Advertising tricycle for lend/hire

Gets around the advertising restrictions by being on wheels. Paint yourself up a couple of adverts, stick them on, and cycle around town! Or static. Free to community groups, make us an offer for businesses. We'll even throw in a couple of blokes for the same price!

Guild Procession

Event of the year by a long chalk and an absolutely brilliant, unbelievably enjoyable, time was had by all participants. The community procession had us joining in with many other groups to put on a great show, with our Gill masterminding the build-up, our Nick spending weeks creating our beautiful Planet and our Melia our magnificent A-board on wheels... Latest Lancashire Market

...took place down Friargate on Saturday 20th August and all the lovely food again attracted a bumper audience. We were there! With Diane and Margaret, a hostful of finger puppets, other fair-trade gifts and our whole-foods. Highlight of the Market, as ever, being Gill's home-made vegan cake ..... xxxxx
